El viaje a #MonsoonKingdom estaba decidido, y lo que más urgía era saber cómo demonios íbamos a trasladarnos hasta esos lares.

¿En un barco camaronero, en un globo aerostático, en una botella de cristal? -como en el increíble corto animado de @imjustafox; en avión.

La primera idea fue volar a Bangkok, y de ahí armaríamos, día con día, el resto del recorrido.

– A mí si me gustaría que elaboráramos un itinerario, dije.

Me gusta tener mucho control sobre las cosas, soy como una señora «preocupona» y acongojada.

– Doña Manuela, dijo Arturo.

Arturo es más… un alma libre, un hijo de la incertidumbre y de la improvisación, y como siempre, me dejé llevar por el libertinaje. Sólo decidiríamos la ciudad de arribo a #MonsoonKingdom y de ahí, todo fluiría con el paso de los días.

– 13 mil pesos el vuelo redondo, México-Los Ángeles, Los Ángeles-Hong Kong, Hong Kong-Bangkok. Arturo lo dijo, mientras meneaba el dedo índice, de aquí para allá, en la app de despegar.com.

– No mames, ¡de huevos! ¿es neta?

Durante varios días vivimos regodeados por el precio tan bajo. El día de la compra descubriríamos que el fantástico precio de 13 mil pesos era sin impuestos, y que tasado, incrementaría hasta casi 19 mil pesos.

– ¿Y si volamos directamente a Hong Kong, y ya?

– Deja ver…

Utilizando Skyscanner, y las apps de Kayak y despegar.com, la manera más barata de ir a Hong Kong era con United Airlines, haciendo escala en Estados Unidos.

– 16 mil varos, ya con impuestos y todo.

Después de un tortuoso proceso de pago, entre que el Paypal y las tarjetas de crédito, y un error fortuito, el itinerario final sería:

México DF-San Francisco, pasar la noche en San Francisco -este fue el error fortuito. Y al otro día, San Francisco-Hong Kong. Viaje «tranqui»:14 horas y 15 minutos idílicos de vuelo.

– Ya estuvo, pago aceptado, le dije. ¡Nos vamos a Asia!

– Oye primo, no se necesita visa para Hong Kong ¿verdad?

– ¡Putísima madre!

Tips para comprar vuelos:

> Usa diferentes apps y páginas de viajes como Skyscanner, Kayak y despegar.com; y después compara precios.

> Si tu vuelo hace escala en Estados Unidos, asegúrate de tener por lo menos 2 horas de tiempo para abordar tu conexión. Los controles de migración tardan mucho, y corres el riesgo de perder tu vuelo.

The trip to #MonsoonKingdom was decided, and what we needed ASAP was to know how the hell we would get to that part of the world.

The first idea was to fly to Bangkok and from there we would structure, day by day, the rest of the trip.

– I would rather have an itinerary in advance, I said.

I like having control over things, I’m like a «worrywart» and distressed lady.

– Madame Manuela, Arturo said.

Arturo is more … a free spirit, a son of the uncertainty and improvisation; and as always, I let myself be carried away by debauchery. We would only set the arrival city to #MonsoonKingdom arrival and from there everything would flow over time.

– 13,000 pesos the roundtrip, Mexico-Los Angeles, Los Angeles-Hong Kong, Hong Kong-Bangkok. Arturo told me, waving his index finger back and forth in the travel app despegar.com.

– Really, freaking cool! are you sure?

For several days we lived immersed in happiness for the low price of the flight tickets. The day of purchase we realised that the fantastic price of 13,000 pesos was tax-free, so after taxes, the price raised to 19,000 pesos.

– What if we just fly directly to Hong Kong?

Using Skyscanner website, and Kayak and despegar.com apps, the cheapest way to go to Hong Kong turned out to be with United Airlines, with a scale in the United States.

After a tortuous process of payment, including Paypal and different credit cards, and a lucky mistake, the final itinerary would be:

Mexico City-San Francisco, one the night over in San Francisco-this was a lucky mistake. And the next day, San Francisco-Hong Kong. A «chill-out trip” consisting of only 14 hours and 15 minutes of idillic flight.

– Payment accepted, I said.We’re going to Asia!
